Vancouver, BC November 7. 2024—Eaglesledge Energy Ltd. (ELE) is pleased to announce the formalization of a Limited Partnership (LP) and General Partnership (GP) agreement with the Atoskewin Business Development Corporation, the economic development arm of the Ochapowace First Nation. This strategic alliance solidifies the collaborative efforts to develop the Belle Plaine Clean Fuels Refinery and Solar Facility in Saskatchewan.

Under this partnership, the Ochapowace First Nation, through Atoskewin, will acquire a 35% ownership stake in the Belle Plaine Project. This initiative aims to produce ultra-low sulfur diesel, gasoline, and jet fuel, with an initial capacity of 30,000 barrels per stream day (bpsd), expandable up to 85,000 bpsd. The project also includes a 125-megawatt solar facility to support refinery operations and contribute to the regional power grid.

“This partnership enhances our relationship with Eaglesledge for future development and ensures that Ochapowace continues to be watchful stewards of our traditional lands and at the forefront of green energy projects in our traditional territory,” said Okimaw/Chief Shelley Bear. “Our future generations depend upon us to protect these lands and waters, and we are doing that through clean energy projects such as this one.”

The Belle Plaine Clean Fuels Refinery and Solar Facility is strategically located near the Bakken Oil Formation, providing access to a vibrant oil and gas supply chain. The project is designed to integrate carbon recapture technology, aiming to capture upwards of 90% of carbon emissions, thereby significantly reducing its environmental impact.

This partnership exemplifies a commitment to sustainable development and economic growth within Indigenous communities, aligning with the Government of Saskatchewan’s priorities for increased Indigenous engagement and business partnerships.
